LOGIS project to support flexibility and improve operational efficiency of a mine locomotive producer

FERRIT s.r.o., one of the world’s major producers of mine locomotives and their accessories, decided to support its flexibility in deliveries and improve its production efficiency through an Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) project implementation. LOGIS will act as a partner for the project implementation.

RIT is a dynamically developing company with steady year-by-year sales increases by many tens of per cents. The growing number of purchase orders from customers, increase in the number of company employees, enlargement of product range and other factors are endangering the traditional competitive edge of FERRIT – flexibility in responses to customer demands – which has been maintained by the company for many years. To secure the customer service level against any related threats in future FERRIT management chose to implement a project focused on modernization of the planning process and information system which will be supplemented with a JDA Factory Planner advanced planning tool.
