KONŠTRUKTA – Industry innovates business processes and supporting information technologies

KONŠTRUKTA – Industry, a manufacturer of process equipment for the tire industry and the processing of explosive materials, has adopted a strategic decision to implement a project aimed at streamlining the job order processing and to improve its information technology support. The project will be implemented together with LOGIS.

Trencin, December 20, 2011

The decision of the Board of Directors of KONŠTRUKTA – Industry is commented on by its Vice Chairman and Director for Economics Mr. Vladimír Lobotka: “Even our field of industry experienced a fall in demand in the years 2008 and 2009, fortunately, in the following year we got almost to the performances of “pre-crisis” level. That what, unfortunately, did not return to its original level, are the requirements of our customers in the area of job order term fulfilment – we are forced to significantly reduce lead times and due to the competitive fight also reduce our realization costs. This situation, together with the need to modernize our information systems, has led to the strategic decision to upgrade the entire job order realization process and its supporting technologies.” “We have been considering two options, namely to establish a long standing cooperation with our existing partners or radical change in the form of implementation of a comprehensive information system from the workshop of one of the multinational producers. Finally, after having ourselves acquainted in a detailed way with various solutions, we clearly opted for the first one. The reason for choosing LOGIS as the key partner for the implementation of the project consisted mainly in its focus on business objectives, expertise of its consultants and range of experiences with the projects in our industry – piece engineering and custom manufacturing.” The Executive Director of LOGIS, Mr. Tomáš Vojtík adds the following: “The foreign activities of LOGIS in recent years outweigh domestic projects. Although this project is realized abroad, we feel in Trencin at home. And it is not just because our collaboration has been going on for many years. I believe that the hitherto manifested interest in the project by senior management and proactive approach of project team members will be important factors that will help to achieve common goals – improvement of term reliability and the reduction of lead times of job orders delivered by KONŠTRUKTA – Industry.” During the ten months-long project we will apply APS (advanced production planning) instrument JDA Factory Planner in the area of planning of production resources and material needs; transactions recording and production logistics management will be performed using FACTORY EC ERP / PPS system.
